Jetty Tour Day 12 - Port Rickaby Lazy Bones

Long, slow, lazy day. In my opinion, they don't happen enough when we tour.

I did the washing this morning and was surprised most of it didn't blow across Spencer Gulf, as the wind blew from the east and then south with such gusto, we spent most of the time being buffeted in the van. Just before lunch we went for a stroll along part of the Walk The Yorke, a track which we saw the start of in Moonta and wraps around the peninsular to Port Wakefield in the north east. They say there is 500km of continuous walking and cycling track, so it must go around several times! Our contribution was barely two kilometres, pleasantly wandering past sand dunes and the plants that grow on them. We end up on the beach, from where the Ingrids and Tims of this world would stride out across the sand toward the south in search of a good place to camp after twenty or so kms.

We just enjoyed our little input.

Lunch and then housekeeping tasks and following was an even less energetic climb up some steps to experience the 360 degree view from the lookout platform - well, there was about 90 degrees missing thanks to some robust Norfolk Pines who must feel a long way from home and in their defence, could be considered the view in their particularly well held 90 degrees.

Very pleasant park, although if you are a squid fisherman, apparently even more pleasant.

Part of the housekeeping was to review our next move.

Edithburgh tomorrow for a whopping four nights. I have writing/editing to do and Sue is keen to sketch and paint.
