The One Day Tour 2.0

Four years ago, Sue retired from her full-time job as a teacher, a little earlier than originally intended, so that we could undertake a ponderous wander about Australia. We realised we would be seeing many places we had seen before but this time we wouldn’t be working to a deadline.

Life has a way of tripping you up and it is only now that we finally set off on this adventure. We are hoping to be on the road for nine months but who knows. We are wary of talking in certainties and mindful that often glorious experiences are hard to reproduce. Lightning doesn’t often strike twice.

That said, no matter where we go or for how long, we do so together: by far our best look.

The original One Day Tour in 2015 lasted nearly three months but whilst we left NSW we didn’t escape the Qld coast, despite getting to Cairns. Here's hoping we do a lot better than that on TOD 2.0.

Our home is in safe hands with a house sitting friend. Our affairs are in order. The grandchildren have  said their goodbyes among their requests not to go but adventure has won out.

Tally ho.
