TOD Tour 2.0, Day 7 - Rolleston

After a difficult night in which we tried to get through without the air con. On cold nights, I sometimes have asthma issues with cold air, usually heavy with condensation inside the van. As a result, we had to rethink our visit to Carnarvon Gorge NP, where the bush resort was unable to provide us with power.

Our theme for this long, long trip is flexibility and so it goes that we decided to bypass Carnarvon Gorge and stay the night at Rolleston. Late in the day, Takarakka Bush Resort contacted us to provide us with a refund, which was generous given their refund policy.

Our first stop today was Injune, where we had a lovely pot of tea on the wide outside balcony of Cafe Second. It’s been amazing on this trip. If there is one thing which seems to have improved in the quieter areas on the back roads of Australia, it’s cafes.

On to Rolleston and a fabulous little Rolleston Caravan Park. Outstanding amenities, great staff and camp kitchen all in a small little town, just a dot on a join of two highways.

Emerald tomorrow.
