TOD Tour 2.0 Day 42 - Bitter Springs

After our first warm night of the tour, we eventually made our way to the Springs, despite my reluctance.

I'm not a water person. Despite going to Yamba every July, despite being born within 3km of Cronulla beach and living my first twenty years within six, its just always been a problem for me. Then I married a surfie chick who lives and breathes the feeling of water over her body. The idea of jumping into a creek - all be it a crystal clear one at 28 degrees - and floating down stream, had me freaking out.

However, I grabbed my noodle - please don't read in a metaphor - put my camera around my neck and jumped in. I was hoping with something to do, the distraction would be enough.

I survived.

Actually, it was quite pleasant and Sue, of course, loved it.

We spent the rest of the afternoon doing nothing and reminded ourselves that was a part of the holiday too. Late in the afternoon, we did a bit of forward planning for the following fortnight, which will include Nitmiluk and Kakadu national parks and hopefully Edith Falls.

More thermal pool tomorrow.
