Art’s Farm - Day 4

A day around the farm, being shown what Art and Ann have done in developing this little paradise.

Now, you don’t come to a rural setting and not expect wildlife. It’s all very well happily watching a wombat at sunset or flocks of King Parrots and Crimson Rosellas landing on gutter and then hanging upside down on bird feeders. Hearing Lyrebirds running through the register of birds of the area is very entertaining. Even timid kangaroos are a warm and fuzzy entertainment and welcoming to the busy. Not so much other things.

Being buzz-bombed by insect eating bats certainly wasn’t on my agenda but they are cute little guys and the sight of them peering through breaks in the sarking with their little faces and ears pointed and large by comparison, is rather sweet. Having to dress to avoid bush tics has also been a negative. However, having to show admiration for two large, fat and shining black snakes and then having to walk past them at what for me was way to close, became the highlight of my fears.

That aside, walking the tracks with my brother and doing my small things to assist, has been wonderful.
