AAAT Tour - Day 18 - Cobar to Home

A long, long day driving home - 578kms. In the end, it was just one leg after the other.

We stopped for coffee at the Kangaroo Cafe in Warren mid morning and had a lunch by the river bed in Gilgandra and then drove and drove, stopping only in Spring Ridge for Sue to stretch her back. To be honest, it was an ideal way to spend a day.

However, it couldn't take away from a pleasant few weeks travelling west and the chance to finally explore Broken Hill.

Warrumbungles

We go there a lot but we never get tired of it. Since 1968, I been there for more than 40 camping trips. This was just a two night weekend jaunt. Unable to walk many of the tracks any more owing to Sue's back, we just pottered about, did a lot of reading and took photos. Today we circumnavigated the park, driving to the west and then via Tooraweena and Coonabarabran. In the process, we found Hickey Falls. What a delightful spot.

Very relaxing way to get away from home for a few days.
