Jetty Tour Day 16 - Blown Away

Part of the tidal pool mural
Some days on the road just blow you away. Today, that was literally true.

We were through the worst of the cold front when we settled back into the van last night but it still threw a few surprises at us during the night, with gust up to 55kph around midnight and then rain with persistent squalls which rolled through from then on. Each squall brought horizontal rain which drummed again the skin of the van for 30 seconds to a minute as though it was going to come right through.

As a result, I slept poorly.

This pattern continued until lunchtime today when the squalls finally ceased and the sun returned but the wind insisted on testing our patience.

We spent the day reading, researching the next spot, showering and generally doing bugger all.

Late in the afternoon we went to the Edithburgh Hotel for a few drinks and some trivia and I took Sue to see the local tidal pool. It has a lovely mural which features 330 hand prints by children from local schools on this south east corner of the peninsular.

Home, dinner, more bugger all.

Who cares. We're on holidays.
